1.Burn protection. Your
kitchen oven gloves should be able to withstand high heat whenever your hands get near or get to brush ember, hot glowing metal and flame. Basically, not any part of it should melt.
2.Fire/Heat resistant. Since you'll be using it near fire, ember or hot rod, choose
bbq glove that has the fire and heat resistant qualities.
3.Excellent finger grip. Grilling and oven-cooking takes a lot of work. You need to turn up meat continuously, grip and lift heavy pans or pots. You must also hold tong securely and move the charcoals from time to time. With all of these, you have to have grill gloves that are non-slip to avoid accidents.
4.Easy to wash/clean. Choose yours that are easy to wash. Silicone grill and oven gloves, neoprene and PVC coated gloves are really easy to wash. You can even toss them in your washing machine.
5.Non-irritating to the hands. Some people can be hypersensitive to some fabric materials while others may also be allergic to rubber. If you are one of them, read the specifications of the grill gloves before purchasing.
6.Have multi-purpose features. You should move hot heavy objects with it such as large pots, large metal grills and grill sets or use it as hot pads when necessary.
